PNEUMATIC CONVEYING / Rotary Valves
Rotary valves for heavy industries
Accurate feed rate, required capacity, and dust-free operation are crucial elements for smooth operation in the process industry. Rotary valves or air lock feeders can make or break your production capabilities.
Heavy industries have used our rotary feeders for decades. Designed to last, the system stays gas-tight when adequately maintained, and maintains its dosing capacities consistently, without any fluctuations.
Terms rotary feeder and rotary valve are typically used as synonyms.
Rotary valve can also act as an air lock valve preventing air leakages and creating a controlled atmosphere. Dosing, feeding or discharging capacities vary according to the bulk density and flow characteristics of material as well as the size of the rotary feeder and its operating speed that can easily be adjusted with a frequency converter.
Typical usage cases range from 100 kg/h to hundreds of tons per hour.
When operating with hot materials, we at Kopar have extensive know-how and experience in adjusting the tolerances due to thermal expansion to match your requirements perfectly.

Controlled atmosphere and dust-free operation
The primary function of rotary feeders and rotary valves is to discharge, feed or dose material from a hopper, bin or silo to the following process stage at desired feed rate, be it constant, variable or adjustable.
When the rotary valve serves as an airlock, it prevents any leakage of air backwards in the system and, thus, enables a controlled atmosphere.
Rotary feeders are critical for blower conveying
Rotary valves and feeders are critical in low-pressure pneumatic conveying, known as blower conveying. Additionally, pressure injection, in which material is fed at a constant feed rate through a submerged lance inside a moulted slag, could not be applied without a rotary feeder or rotary valves.
Designed to fit the place and purpose
In addition to the atmospheric control of the gas phase, the closed design of the system with various sealing technologies for the rotating axle also ensures a practically dust-free operation with dusty, powdery materials.
Furthermore, when operating with hot materials, we at Kopar have extensive know-how and experience in adjusting the tolerances due to thermal expansion to match perfectly your requirements.
