Metals and minerals
Cooling of the copper alloy
KGHM's Głogów smelter's copper concentrate cooling drum was delivered to Poland in 2016. The cooling drum is fed with 20 t/h of concentrate at a temperature of approximately 450°C. The drum cools the material down to approximately 130°C.
Converter dust conveying
Kopar also supplied 5 converter dust collection conveyors for KGHM's Głogów I smelter modernisation project.
Waste heat boiler dust handling
In relation to KGHM's Głogów I smelter modernisation project, we delivered waste heat boiler slag and dust handling equipment: bucket elevators, crushers, and rotary valves.
Conveying solutions for concentrate and fluxing materials in a copper smelter
As part of the modernisation of KGHM's Głogów I copper smelter, Kopar supplied them with a total of 14 screw conveyors for the controlled feeding of additives into the electric furnace, and two screw conveyors and a bucket elevator for the transfer of dried copper concentrate.
Granulating elevator for copper smelter slag treatment in Asia
Kopar supplies a granulation elevator for a secondary copper smelting project in Asia. The delivery is part of a wider slag treatment package and continues Kopar's long-standing cooperation with global metal industry players.
Heavy-duty materials handling for a circular economy pioneer project in Raahe
Saint-Gobain Finland Oy has built the world's first ladle slag processing plant in Raahe, Finland, which uses steel slag from ladle treatment. Kopar was involved in the project from an early stage, designing and delivering a complete solution for handling hot and abrasive material.
Chemicals
Cooling Equipment for anhydrite in a hydrofluoric acid production plant
In a chemical industry production facility located in Southeast Asia, a reliable solution was needed for the treatment of process side streams. Kopar supplied cooling technology for the project, which supports safe material handling, process stability, and sustainable production under demanding operating conditions.
Reliable material handling for a strategically important production facility in Estonia
A nationally significant energy investment demands not only technical expertise but also the ability to operate seamlessly as part of a complex project organisation. Kopar delivered robust material handling solutions for the Enefit 280-2 project, suporting Estonia's drive for energy self-sufficiency and technological advancement.
Energy and the Environment
Bed sand drying
In 2015, we supplied a sand dryer for a power plant located in the Indonesian rainforest for the first time. The drying takes place in a rotating drum with a diameter of 1600mm, into which the wet sand is fed. The drying energy is generated by an oil burner. The dryer has a length of 5000mm and a capacity of 5 m³/h.
Bottom ash cooling
KRC coolers, specifically designed for cooling large bottom ash volumes, have been operating at this Polish power plant since 2018.
Drying of litter
In 2025, we delivered another sand drying drum to the same Indonesian power plant as 10 years prior, this time with a capacity of 10 m3/h.
Material recycling and operational safety for Vatajankoski district heating production
When the Kankaanpää district heating plant in Vatajankoski switched from peat to wood-based fuel, a need to develop the processing of bedding material emerged. The recycling solution supplied by Kopar helped to reduce material waste, improve occupational safety and support the plant's sustainable energy production goals.
A reliable valve solution for Northern European ash treatment
In 2015, a solid fuel power plant operating in Northern Europe faced ongoing challenges with its ash handling. The pneumatic conveying system, which used disc slide valves as feed valves, suffered from repeated blockages and leaks, causing additional hassle.
Circular economy
Solid carbon handling in a hydrogen production plant
We delivered equipment for the safe handling of solid carbon to Europe's largest hydrogen production plant based on methane pyrolysis.
