Crushing, screening and feeding
Kopar offers reliable solutions for material crushing, screening, and feeding in demanding process conditions. Our solutions are specifically designed for abrasive and challenging materials, such as slags, ashes, concentrates, and metallurgical dusts.
Crushing, screening, and feeding form a chain responsible for producing a consistent and controlled material flow for the process. Crushing reduces the material to the desired size, screening separates it into the correct fractions, and feeders evenly dose the material to the next process stage. We design each solution according to the material being processed and the customer's process, ensuring reliable long-term operation of the entire system.

Crushers reduce material in a controlled manner
The Kopar crushers are designed for the efficient size reduction of lumpy and clumpy materials. Typical applications include waste heat boiler slag, agglomerated metallurgical dusts, and bottom ash. The crushers can withstand continuous wear and temperatures of up to 300°C.
- Rotor crushers suitable for the primary crushing of coarser material.
- Roll crushers are a choice for fine crushing when accurate control of the final product size distribution is desired.
By combining crushing types, the desired particle size distribution is achieved from coarse feed to fine end product. Controlled particle size facilitates further processing and transportation of the material. Pneumatic conveying, in particular, requires a sufficiently small particle size to operate smoothly.

Screening separates the material into the correct fractions
Screening ensures that material of the correct size enters the process or for further use. Our drum screens separate up to three fractions in a single screening pass, making them an effective solution for separating ash and sand in power plants, for bedding material recycling, and for fractionating slag for further use.
In addition to trommel screens, we also provide other screening solutions, such as various types of flat and vibrating screens. The type of screen is always selected based on the properties of the material to be processed, the required capacity and the desired end result. Screening can be seamlessly integrated with other process stages, such as crushing and conveying.

The feeders ensure a steady flow of material.
Consistent and controlled material feed is the basis for the functionality of the entire process. Koppar's feeding and dosing solutions are designed for reliable operation even in high temperatures and demanding operating environments, and they can be integrated as part of conveying and process systems.
Rotary valves and compartment feeders
Rotary valves and compartment feeders discharge, feed or dose material from a silo or hopper to the next process stage at a desired feed rate. The gas-tight design allows for a controlled and dust-free operating environment, and capacities range from hundreds of kilos to hundreds of tonnes per hour.
Screw feeders and multi-dish screw feeders
Screw feeders are a particularly versatile solution for the controlled feeding of material. Most typically, they are used for various dry materials, but they also work for moist materials and even slurries. Screw feeders are also not sensitive to material coarseness, so the same technology is suitable for both fine-grained and coarser materials.
Multi-dosing screws ensure consistent and reliable dosing even for poorly flowing powdered materials, when the process requires particular feeding accuracy.

Part of a wider material handling system
Crushing, screening and feeding are a key part of Kopar’s comprehensive material handling solution. These solutions can be integrated with transport, storage and unloading systems, meaning the entire handling chain can be sourced from a single supplier. We act as a design partner right from the early stages of a project and help you select equipment that can withstand the actual conditions of the process.
