Background and objectives of the project
The slag from the copper smelting process is granulated with water, after which the material is sent for further processing. A critical step in the process is the reliable transfer of the granulated material from the granulation tank to the screening plant.
The client's objective was:
- ensure a steady and uninterrupted flow of material
- minimise downtime due to wear and corrosion
- achieve a long service life in very demanding conditions
The solution had to be able to simultaneously withstand heavy mechanical wear and corrosion.
Technical solution: granulation elevator with a capacity of 50 t/h
The granulation elevator supplied by Kopar is rated for a nominal capacity of 50 tonnes per hour. The elevator efficiently transfers the granulated slag from the granulation tank to the screening stage.
The design is based on more than 25 years of reference deliveries, which have been used to continuously develop the structure to meet the growing demands of the smelting industry.
Durable construction and carefully selected materials
Special steel alloys are used in the construction of the elevator and in the parts subject to the highest stress, guaranteeing a long service life even in highly abrasive and corrosive environments.

- perforated bucket bases for efficient drainage
- special engine and gearbox drive system
- rail-mounted liftable elevator
- flexible chain system for power and control signal transmission
- very high chain breaking strength, ideal for heavy duty use
